Today I have released ShortcutLauncher v1.1

This software update adds a "Close Window" option that when the user enters the shortcut name and press Open, the software will automatically close and launch the file/software immediately.

That is the only change between v1.0 and v1.1

Today I released my shortcut creation software, ShortcutLauncher.

To use this, you must create text shortcuts to your files. Once this has been done, you can launch the shortcuts by typing its name. Simple and Easy!

In these recent days I have been very busy. I've been performing updates to PerfectCompress, which will have its v6.12 release very soon with support to LZBW1 folder compression support, and also features DURILCA Compression.

I took a break from working on the software and I found a very old notebook that had some software ideas written on. I saw I had a software planned to do called "ShortcutLauncher", which motivated me to develop it.

Today, I've made the software "ShortcutLauncher". The software works by creating Text Shortcuts, which then, when the shortcut is created, you load the file by just writing the name and pressing "Open". It's that simple!

This software will be available very soon. In the meanwhile, here are some screenshots of it:

Hello all,

I would like to let everyone know that I am working with PerfectCompress v6.12. This new version will offer a new feature called "Folder Autodetection". As you may know, if you want to compress a folder with some compressors, you have to select the "Folder Compression" Checkbox on the compression window. This will no longer be necessary as PerfectCompress will detect files or folders automatically and will use the file code for file compression and folder code for Folder Compression automatically.

Also, in this version, there will be DURILCA Compression and extraction support! The DURILCA Compressor is a top-ranked compressor and will be available in v6.12!

Hello all,

in all of these days I have been working on my software, PerfectCompress. I would like to let all of you know that I will be releasing some updates of PerfectCompress soon. The versions are still version 6 so there is no PerfectCompress v7.0 or other release, they still are version 6.

In the next versions you will be able to compress your files to, and be able to extract them in these formats:
-BIT Compression and Extraction
-Range0 Compression and Extraction
-o0c Compression and Extraction
-LZP2 Compression and Extraction
-LZBW1 Compression and Extraction
-ZHuff Compression and Extraction
-Huff0 Compression and Extraction

So there will be 7 new compression and extraction support. This is great since now the number of formats to compress files increases to 39 different formats and more than 40 format support for extraction.

PerfectCompress v6.06 Released!

Hello all,

I am pleased to announce the release of PerfectCompress v6.06. This version fixes a serious bug found on previous versions that started with the v6.03 release. The bug consisted on making converted CCM to UCA Archives unvalid, making them unable to be extracted. The problem has been fixed on this version. Also, this version has several updates: First, the "Archive Converter" Design has been updated to include "CCM" in it. Second, 7-zip has been updated to version 9.09 Beta, and last, BCM has been updated to version 0.10. BCM 0.10 was released with x86 and x64 support, and I am happy to say that PerfectCompress now includes BCM 0.10 64-bit version. Obviously, you will need a PC with a 64-bit processor and a 64-bit windows version installed on your PC to be able to use BCM x64.

Here is the changelog:
-Fixed: CCM Convertion to UCA makes converted UCA files invalid and could not extract them. The problem has been fixed on the Archive Converter
-Updated: The Archive Converter image was updated to display CCM Convertion.
-Updated: 7-zip to version 9.09
-Updated: BCM to version 0.10
-Added: BCM v0.10 x64!

Hello all. After some downtime of my website, I was finally able to update the site (at 9:00PM). PerfectCompress v5.6 has been released and fixes ZPAQ Compression and Extraction.

Today, I have been working on PerfectCompress v5.7 which features an updated version of FLASHZIP Compression engine. I will upload this to my site later today (i'm in school now).

PerfectCompress V4.00 Comming Very Very Soon

Hello all. I am currently working on a huge update for PerfectCompress. The main new features are file precompression, and that the program no longer causes some annoying bugs like the ones that says "File is already in use" and that errors. This erros were fixed by rewritting the compression and extraction code. Another big feature is that you can choose to not to display the Command Prompt when compressing files and instead, that it shows the progress on a RichTextBox. Also, the program can show what part of the compression progress it is currently working.

Here is a list of features for this big release (and a big upgrade)
-No longer shows CMD (can select to show CMD if you like it)
-Compression Code Rewritten
-Extraction Code Rewritten
-Removed various lines of code (because of the rewrite)
-Removed All PAQ versions except the latest one (PAQ8PX_v60)(Extraction support for all PAQ8PX from v42 and on is still supported)
-Removed UCA Version 1 to 13 for compression only (extraction is available for all UCA version)
-NEW FILE PRECOMPRESSION
-Store-On-Disc feature works faster than ever (because it does not write bat files)
-Store-On-Disc code rewritten.

After reading some posts on the Encode.ru PerfectCompress topic, I tested the software as it is right now on 2 computers, in which the software failed on both ones. After searching the web, I found that it is not a byug, but a dependency issue. I have now figured out the problem and it is fixed. It is fixed but not yet uploaded. I will do some improvements to PerfectCompress and post the updated version with the DLL files required of the software to run.

for anyone that wants to run the software now, either you install Visual Studio 2008 SP1 or just wait for me to release the version.

Hello. I have cleaned-up this blog so I can be more organized when writing on this blog.

Well, the first thing I'm going to say is that I am working on a software with the name PerfectCompress. PerfectCompress is a compression software that allows you to compress files in ZIP, 7z, PAQ, ZPAQ and our new standard, UCA. What are the advantages of UCA? Well, it is based on the latest version of PAQ which means that files are very compressed but takes a long time to compress, second, you must use the exact version of PAQ when you are going to extract the files. This is over with UCA, since it features version autodetection and will choose the correct version to extract the files.

Another great feature I have added the last days on this software is what I call Store-On-Disc. Store-On-Disc, as the name suggests, allows you to compress data directly to disc, and even more, you can copy already compressed files from your PC to the DVD. The drawback of this is that you need Windows Vista, (which has not been tested but should work) or Windows 7. Store-On-Disc features a lot of things and included is a full featured log system for those that likes to keep track of what they do, and it really works (well, since the last version, it is in beta, since I have made a lot of improvements and I don't know if it works correctly on those extra features I have implemented.). I will upload the latest version of the software once I have finished Debuging it (which should not have any bugs).
